Application Requirements:

Each applicant must be a U.S. citizen, live in Tempe, be a Junior in high school, be in good health (and, upon request, be able to supply a doctor's statement of verification) and commit to live in Tempe for his/her senior year of high school.

Applications:  Applications are available at the four public Tempe high schools and at private schools throughout the Valley, the Tempe Clerk’s Office, City Hall, 2nd Floor and from the application link listed at the bottom of this page.  Completed applications must be received no later than 5:00 p.m., December 4, 2009.

Due Date: Completed applications must be received no later than 5:00 p.m., December 4, 2009.

Selection Process: All applicants will participate in one group interview and two individual interviews conducted by the Student Exchange Selection Committee.  Applicants will also be required to attend an informal dinner party and a social function with their parents.  Final selection will be made in March.

Special Notes: The Tempe Sister City Corporation Board of Directors, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to revoke the selection of any delegates prior to departure and also to determine the need for an early return to Tempe of any delegate at their parent's expense, due to any misconduct.

Passports:  Obtaining a passport and any visas required is the responsibility of the delegate and his/her family. The passport must be received prior to May 1, 2009. It is recommended that delegates apply immediately following their selection.
